Get in Touch

This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether a person is in custody, release anyone, accept or post bond, or retrieve an official booking record for you. Contact the government office that created or now holds the record for those services.

Reach the Right Records Office

Desha County does not operate a county jail. The county uses the municipal holding facilities in Dumas and McGehee, so the office that made an arrest may differ from the city that performed intake and created the booking photograph. Call first when the custodian is unclear. No records-unit counter hours, online request form, local booking-photo fee schedule, or promised turnaround was found for these offices. Confirm the current custodian, public hours, request method, delivery options, and cost estimate before visiting or sending a request.

Desha County Sheriff's Office

604 President Street
Arkansas City, AR 71630

870-877-2580

Fax: 870-877-3406

Ask which city accepted intake and whether the sheriff holds the arrest or incident report.

Dumas Police Department

149 East Waterman Street
Dumas, AR 71639

870-382-3311

Ask whether Dumas performed intake and holds the booking record, image, or release entry.

McGehee Police Department

2412 Highway 65 North
McGehee, AR 71654

870-222-3636

Ask whether McGehee performed intake and holds the booking record, image, or transfer entry.

Choose a source by the question it can answer. A narrow request should name the person, give an approximate arrest or intake date, identify the arresting agency when known, and describe the existing record sought. Ask the arresting agency for its report and the intake city for its booking sheet or photograph. The following routes keep custody, court, and corrections records in their proper systems:

  • For a Desha County booking photograph or intake record, use the official workflow on the home page, then contact Dumas or McGehee after confirming which city handled intake.
  • For current local custody or a release or transfer alert, search Arkansas VINE and confirm urgent details by telephone with the responsible agency.
  • For an arrest or incident report, contact the agency whose officer made the arrest. That may be the sheriff, Dumas Police Department, McGehee Police Department, or another agency.
  • For a filed charge, hearing, or disposition, search ARCourts and then request the official record from the appropriate district or circuit clerk.
  • For a person committed to state correctional custody, use the Arkansas Department of Corrections Inmate Search. Its profile is not the same as a recent municipal booking record.
  • For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. Use the ICE detainee locator only when the inquiry is genuinely tied to immigration custody.
  • For a records request, ask for existing files in a maintained format, request an itemized estimate, and ask which office is the custodian if the first office has no responsive record.
